Natalie is a paper-cutting artist. Paper cutting is an old art form that dates back to the fourth century, and it is not commonly seen in today’s art scene. Natalie discovered the art of paper cutting in 2008. She started as a hobby and got good at it. Friends told her that she should do something with the new skill she honed. She toyed with the idea, but she was busy with so many other things, including trying to stay in a corporate job that wasn’t a good fit for her. Natalie then learned that she had ADD, and that she was on the spectrum for autism as well. This explained, in part, why she found corporate demands so arduous. MADISON COUNTY - On Saturday, September 14, the Madison County Historical Society Family History Walk will take place in the Leclaire National Historic District in Edwardsville. This is a free event offered by the Madison County Historical Society to build interest in the community around us. Participants will meet at the Nickel Plate Station at 10 a.m., then follow a trail that leads them to various locations where actors portraying former Leclaire residents will greet them. Visitors will, of course, meet Leclaire founder, N.O. Nelson, as well as his daughter, Julia Lawnin, bathtub maker Fred Merkle, school teacher Mildred Shaw, housewife Emma Sehnert, cabinetmaker Charles Vollentine, and junk dealer Frank Mack. Hit-and-Run on Milton Road: Driver Flees Scene, But Alton Police Apprehend Driver
ALTON – In the early hours of Saturday, Sept. 7, 2024, the Alton Police Department responded to a hit-and-run incident on the 1200 block of Milton Road. At approximately 1:03 a.m., officers were notified of the crash, which involved a vehicle striking a utility pole. Upon arrival, officers determined that the driver had fled the scene on foot. Witnesses reported seeing a male subject running away from the crash site. Following a search, the driver was located at a nearby residence. The individual was issued citations for improper lane usage and leaving the scene of a property damage accident. No injuries were reported as a result of the crash. The vehicle involved was subsequently towed from the scene. Ameren Illinois, the utility company, was called to replace the damaged utility pole. The incident is under investigation by the Alton Police Department.

ST. LOUIS, MO. - The St. Louis Regional Freightway has added three additional properties to its growing pipeline of rail-accessible industrial real estate sites: Admiral Parkway, Forest Boulevard, and Granite City Buildings and Land. They bring the total number of rail-served sites in the pipeline to 20, spread across 16 locations. These sites all feature heavy industrial user zoning ready for developers to take advantage of the region’s global connectivity with access to all six Class I railroads and rail infrastructure that is constantly being improved. The new site locations offer more than 1,150 acres combined. Admiral Parkway in Dupo, Illinois, is the largest of the three, encompassing 1,000 acres with rail service potential through Union Pacific Railroad. Attorney General Charges Montgomery County Man With Dissemination Of Child Sexual Abuse Material
CHICAGO – Attorney General Kwame Raoul’s office charged a Montgomery County man with the alleged dissemination of child sexual abuse material. The case is part of Raoul’s ongoing work, in collaboration with federal law enforcement agencies and local law enforcement officials throughout Illinois, to apprehend offenders who download and trade child sexual abuse images online. The Attorney General’s office charged Troy A. Shull, 46, of Raymond, Illinois, in Montgomery County Circuit Court with six counts of dissemination of child pornography, Class X felonies each punishable by up to 30 years in prison. Sentences are ultimately determined by the court. Shull is detained at the Montgomery County jail and his next court appearance is Oct. 17. “Child exploitation can cause trauma to survivors and their families that can lead to a lifetime of physical and emotional recovery,” Raoul said. “I will continue to collaborate with local, state and
