Back in 2016, the Missouri General Assembly reversed a state law to allow open carry, meaning conceal carry permits are no longer needed to possess a gun. While federal law has an age requirement to buy a firearm, Missouri doesn't.

It's barely summer break and a St. Louis family is planning a 17-year-old boy's funeral after he was shot and killed at a party gone terribly wrong.

Teens told police the party inside a downtown St. Louis office building had been advertised for a week on social media.

Local leaders called for a mix of social support, tougher gun laws and stricter enforcement in response to a mass shooting.
