GODFREY – Freer Auto Body’s well-known Christmas In July is returning from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Friday, July 21, at the shop located at 4512 North Alby Street in Godfrey. Sloppy Joes, chips and a cold drink will be served for those who attend. As always, there are several excellent raffle prizes. St. Louis Board of Aldermen unanimously approved open-carry bill

The St. Louis Board of Aldermen on Thursday approved a new ordinance to regulate open-carry weapons in the city. The board voted 14-0 in favor of Board Bill 29. Alderwoman Shameem Clark Hubbard was absent from the meeting. The bill now heads to Mayor Tishaura Jones, who has said she was studying the legislation. The bill would outlaw "openly carrying or displaying any firearm readily capable of lethal use within the City unless the person possesses a valid concealed carry endorsement or permit." Violators…

St. Louis Board of Aldermen Approves Limits on Open Carry of Guns

The St. Louis Board of Aldermen voted this morning to prohibit the open carrying of firearms without a concealed carry permit. Openly carrying or displaying firearms "readily capable of lethal use" within the city would result in an ordinance violation of unlawful display of a weapon and possible incarceration. The bill has exceptions for law enforcement officers or members of the armed forces on active duty.
