Fresh off a re-election victory, St. Louis Alderwoman Cara Spencer said she has quit her job at Saint Louis Bank to focus on the public post at a new 14-member Board of Aldermen.
"I cannot thank enough (Saint Louis Bank) for the privilege of working for a true community bank to further our shared vision of a stronger St. Louis," she said in a social media message Friday. "I have learned so much and gained so many friends - thank you!"

After this weekend's deadly shooting outside the Exotic Bar and Grill on Cherokee Street, a nearby business owner tells the RFT that she's been trying for years to alert elected leaders and the police to the violence that seems to regularly occur outside the bar.
