Missouri Senate could take up vote to slash personal property taxes
A push to slash Missouri's personal property taxes is poised for a vote in the state Senate and could come with a steep price tag for local governments.

Missouri House passes bill that would put St. Louis Police Department under state control
The Missouri House of Representatives passed a bill Monday that would put the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department under state control.
House Bill 702 was passed by a vote of 113-40. The bill would put the department under the control of a five-member board made up of the mayor of St. Louis and four commissioners appointed by the governor of Missouri.
The bill would also require the city to give police officers a raise by July of next year.
