The Tap In Center at St. Louis County Library's Florissant Valley branch gives people a space to address outstanding warrants and other legal matters without risking arrest. St. Louis Union Station is celebrating the St. Louis Blues this Saturday, April 16 with a rally day on the Purina Performance Plaza before the game. Beloved Blues mascot "Louie" will be on the plaza and in the St. Louis Wheel Park for hugs, high fives, and photos from 10 to 11 a.m. The Charles Glenn Band, a favorite of Blues fans, will perform in the Plaza from noon until 2 p.m. The Blues will play the Minnesota Wild at 2 p.m. at Enterprise Center next door to Union Station on Saturday. The St. Louis Aquarium at Union Station will be open beginning at 9 a.m. on Saturday and the St. Louis Wheel, carousel, and mini-golf course will open at 10 a.m. Union Station's restaurants, including Soda Fountain -- famous for its Freak Shake milkshakes -- and Train Shed will open for lunch and dinner, beginning at 11 a.m. The Fire & Light Show on the Union Station lake will play throughout the afternoon beginning at noon. Alderwoman Sarah Martin has resigned. Citing the recent passage of Prop R, Martin — who serves the 11th Ward — posted her resignation letter to Board of Aldermen President Lewis Reed on social media. “I cannot continue my work in the Capitol and serve on the Board of Aldermen,” Martin wrote in the letter.

ALTON - JCPenney celebrated 120 years in business with discounts, a new ad campaign, and a new JCPenney-inspired character on Friday. Residents of Hyde Park have complained for years about a local business that they say creates eyesores and environmental hazards. Now, they're taking their complaints to court. In a lawsuit filed on behalf of the Hyde Park Neighborhood Association, residents say the owners of Shreve's Engine Rebuilders violate St. Louis City ordinances and state environmental laws by mishandling industrial waste and toxic chemicals.
Sarah Wood Martin, the alderwoman for St. Louis' 11th Ward, has resigned from her position of five years, effective Monday.
In a news release, Wood Martin said her resignation comes from the passing of Proposition R on April 5. In addition to turning over ward redistricting to a citizens' commission, Proposition R strengthens conflict-of-interest regulations for the Board of Aldermen.
